OrKIDStra’s Home for the Holidays

Hello! Yesterday we went to see the Louisville Orchestra perform at the Brown Theatre. It was very cool. The Louisville Youth Choir was also there and Tim King was there too. Our favorite piece with singing was It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year because it sounded smooth and cool and Tim King sang it really well. Our favorite orchestra piece was Polar Express Suite because it was BIG and from a very good movie.

There was a song called Nuttin’ for Christmas and it was horrible – no presents, no candy, no candy canes! It was more of a horror song then a Christmas song. It’s about a girl who tied a knot in someones hair and got nothing for Christmas. There was also a Christmas sing-along with songs like Jingle Bells, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World, Silent Night, Away in a Manger, O Come, All Ye Faithful, and Deck the Halls. There was also a part where Santa came and started jingling a pair of bells. That looked cool.

In the lobby there were lots of different crafts like a gingerbread man and a candy cane mouse. There were also lots of different coloring sheets.

This was a great show. We think you should see more shows from the Louisville Orchestra and Louisville Youth Choir. The next OrKIDstra concert, Fantastic Fairy Tales, will be January 24th. The Louisville Youth Choir’s next performance is A Christmas Festival at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 12th.

Merry Christmas,

Turtle and Moose
